ocated in Iskandar Malaysia in Johor, Marlborough College Malaysia is an independent boarding and day school for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18. Although its existence in Malaysia is still in its infancy, its roots go back to Marlborough College in the UK, which traces its history back to 1843.

Marlborough College Malaysia aims to develop individuals who are able to maximise their potential and give back to society positively.

Teaching and Learning

Marlborough College Malaysia's curriculum, the English National Curriculum provides for students a proper combination of breadth and specialisation. Designed to stimulate, challenge and support students with a wide range of academic extension and enrichment activities through societies, lectures, theatre trips, museum and gallery visits, debates, poetry readings, conference and concerts creating a full co-curriculum which provides for a hollistic development of a student.

Subjects are taught in departmental areas to give all pupils the advantage of specialist facilities such as laboratories, art studios, computer suites, design technology workshops and modern language spaces. The Library is located in the heart of the College and holds a stock of fiction from which pupils may borrow. The curricular provision is regularly reviewed to ensure that it best serves the interests of all pupils, and departments are responsible for the development of their particular subject area.

Facilities

All classrooms are eqquipped with projectors and wireless connection. Marlborough college also employs low teacher:pupil ratio (1:10). Specialist equipment and technicians / teaching assistants are employed in relevant areas. All science labs are fully equipped, resourced and supported.

The school provide a Sports Hall complex which includes includes an arrya of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities which includes a fully-equipped fitness suite and markings for indoor netball, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. Adjoining the Sports Hall are four squash courts and a climbing wall.

There is a lake nearby which can provide opportunities for canoeing and fishing. Golfing is a favourite activity here and the school's golfers play on nearby golf courses, such as the challenging Horizon Hills, which is just five minutes away and the location of the November 2011 European Tour.

There are fifteen music and drama practice and teaching rooms, each is soundproofed and designed to acoustically enhance a player’s performance. Pianos and a range of specialist instruments are available in these rooms for student practice and lessons. There are purpose-built spaces for Drama and the Theatre can be converted into a variety of stage formats for the performance of music or drama, or for talks and lectures. They have an Art and Design wing which houses well-equipped classrooms, exhibition spaces and workshops for the teaching and practice of Art and Design Technology

Pupils in Year 7 and above can join Marlborough College Malaysia as boarding pupils. Initially there are two boarding houses that form communities of between fifty and sixty pupils, under the leadership of a housemaster or housemistress who are directly responsible for the welfare and progress of those in their care. Also serving the Houses are Resident House Tutors and teams of visiting tutors.
